My reefing lines run from the end of the boom through the grommet and are
tied to the boom. The end boom position keeps the foot tight. I tried a
dog-bone and low friction ring, but the bone was too short and pulled out
of the grommet. I'm going to try a cunningham hook on the second reef so I
don't have two lines flying in the breeze.

I use Dyneema reefing lines with covers where they hit the clutches. 1/4
inch is plenty strong.
