One thing that hasn't been mentioned, far as I can tell, is that a new
engine will add to the resale. Maybe not a lot but when I was shopping for
boats one advertised as having a "new engine" told a better story of it's
owner than one advertised with rebuilt or used repowers.

It's a "did it right, did it all the way" vs "got the job done well enough"
type of story.
