I feel for you Fred

In 2013 my brand new that year Tohatsu 6hp long shaft went to the bottom of Big
Bradors lake in over 130 ft of water. This was a motor that I specifically
chose and spec’d out as the ideal auxiliary power for our J27 Nut Case.
Weighed the same as a 4 hp (since it was a 4 with different carb) with
alternator added and hi thrust prop. Culprit was a 2 year old motor mount that
snapped while motoring against a nasty chop in 20 knots.

Two years previously we bought the identical motor and it was stolen. Lesson
learned was to lock it on.
In 2013 when it fell off lesson learned was to tie it to the boat.

The dealer must have loved me when I walked in to buy the third identical motor
in a 3 year period.

Through an unfortunate accident my 4 hp 2 cycle Suzuki went to the bottom of
the Columbia (fresh water) on Saturday. A diver is going to retrieve it
tomorrow.

Fortunately, the engine was not running at the time and the tank vent closed.

What are some of the things I should do to get it running again.
