First deploy oars… then buy some scotch for your diver

Give the motor to your Suzuki mechanic…with some more scotch… or

Remove carb, disassemble, dry and thoroughly flush with carb cleaner. Don’t
change any settings or adjust jets

Replace the gas – oil mixture in the fuel tank

Remove spark plugs, dry and lube with mystery oil or any other light weight oil
both on the top of the cylinders and through the bottom (carb side) Get it
completely oily by turning it over while introducing oil.

Remove flywheel (not too bad with the right puller) and change and gap points.
Make sure magneto is dry.

Put it all back together and run it for a short time with a mixture rich in
oil.

Change the mixture to the correct ratio (50 to one or whatever it is supposed
to have) and clean the spark plugs

Run

Don’t worry about the lower end. It is sealed

Alternately, just dry it out, pull the spark plugs and spray some WD-40 in
there, drain the carb bowl and the gas tank, replace with a nice oily mix, put
it back together and fire it up

Then trade it in for a Yamaha 4 stroke.

Subject: Stus-List Outboard in the river

Through an unfortunate accident my 4 hp 2 cycle Suzuki went to the bottom of
the Columbia (fresh water) on Saturday. A diver is going to retrieve it
tomorrow.

Fortunately, the engine was not running at the time and the tank vent closed.

What are some of the things I should do to get it running again.
