Hi guys,

I'm a bit late on this (Just got back from a week long family vacation)

I'd say it's somewhere in between..

1) He's clearly not very bright and was inviting trouble as indicated by
his ignoring the multiple forum advice and the general lack of prep
2) Too many contradictions and loose ends: he's lying (Some)
3) Says he's writing a book.. Some of it is manufactured for that purpose,
how much?

About writing the book: Here's an excerpt of his posts on the forum: "
Sometimes I had the jib set so that it would stop the boat from putting
too turning too hard towards either shore! That was golden "
http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/f2/how-do-you-set-the-sails-for-the-different-wind-directions-128002.html

He will need a lot of help to write a book that English speaking folks can
actually read.

Here's another one.. priceless:
http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/f47/how-do-you-make-sailing-easier-124215.html

I love the Reponse # 14 " Assuming this isn't a joke thread: Learning to
sail on a cruising boat single handed in a crowded channel/harbor is
probalby not a good idea "

Even my mother in law who's entire sailing experience consists of a 2 hour
afternoon cruise on my boat says he's lyin' :-)
