Hi Jim,
One of the problems with SuperLube seems to be, it is hard to remove.
It is waterproof and proof to many solvents because it is synthetic and not
petroleum based and must be rubbed off. I chose it for my rudderpost 5 years
ago because it is environmentally safe, thick and clear, compatible w metal and
plastic, and wouldn't cause a rainbow on the water if it dripped out. I was
considering trying it on some winches, but your comment stopped me in time.
Instead, I will use a winch grease. But I'll keep using SuperLube for the
rudder, and think it a good choice for that application.

Thanks,
Chuck

I was using the spray version, and I used it on my wind instrument, and also on
a lot of snap shackles and similar hardware. Worked great for a while, and then
it just turned to reluctant goo. I ended up cleaning it off everything with
various solvents ranging from paint thinner (shackles) to WD-40 {wind
instrument). I relubed with McLube Sailkote and everything has been fine ever
since.

Hi Jim,
Could you elaborate on what items you were using the SuperLube and can you
speculate what happened to it?

Thanks
