Joel, I didn't realize that there might be different fittings; if its just a 
plug I can pull it out and inject the grease down into the hole?

Is it a Zerc fitting or a plug?  If the former I would take my chances and 
spray with PB Blaster and then lube it with a lube gun.

I just use a good waterproof grease like Lubriplate.  Seems to work just fine. 


And probably a good idea to keep these discussion “on-list” so others can chime
