My guess is that they were also tired of having to dig through them to find particular boats every time someone requested a build file. Easily several file cabinets full. Probably broken up, and stuffed in cardboard boxes, making it even more of a chore to find any particular one. It may have been more annoyance than profit center for them. I know when I needed a gooseneck part, they knew they had it listed on inventory, but someone had to go out in a dark shed with a flashlight to dig through boxes for it.
