So that means the Rob Ball designed boats are not C&Cs? Come on Dwight! the Tartan built 99 and 115 that I have sailed on many many times are beautiful boats and a far better carrier of the C&C banner than having the brand die which is what was happening prior to that .... Mike

I know most of the people involved and they are pretty decent guys. The company president used to own a C&C 41, his right hand man grew up on a C&C 29, and one of the guys used to work at the old C&C plant in RI. Most of the rest have some connection with pre-Tartan C&Cs. I think they will be a good thing for the brand. And they have already offered their support in any way they can for those of us with older boats. Much too racy to fit into the Tartan line, it looked very out of place. They should have sold the boat molds along with the name. I don't know if they are still making new 115's, I didn't ask. The show was fun. saw a lot of boats. it was a bit soggy but warm enough that it didn't matter much. I bet the rain gear people made a killing! We headed home Monday morning so, we missed all the good weather. I met the C&C guys. The one I talked to was kind of a tool. He was saying, "they haven't made any C&Cs in a long time..." I mean, I know Tartan was making them but, are they not still C&Cs if built under that name? With that reasoning, the new plant isn't making C&Cs either, right? I have to say, of all the boat representatives we spoke to, That guy gets biggest douche award! I'd have loved to have seen one of the C&C/Tartan 115s but there were none to be seen. I guess all those boats are going to continue as Tartans now... What a great little town too! it did remind me of Newport. We ate tons of crab!
