If I remember correctly, on my 35MkIII I have two metal (aluminum?) "pins" that are bolted / attached to the quadrant. They are perhaps 1/2 inch diameter and stand up about 2 inches. They are covered in rubber sleeves. When the wheel is turned fully on obe direction, the appropriate side "pin" rests against what looks like a glass-fiber "block" that is fixed / part of the hull. The rubber presumably takes out some of the shock
