I agree that it definitely needs investigated. OTOH, the crack may be in the overlaying fiberglass/gelcoat/paint, assuming there is some on your keel--can't see from the picture. The leading edge of my centerboard trunk is covered with glass/paint and it has been removed several times to get to the centerboard pin, which is under the glass and held in place with 2 SS plates which must be accessed (via removing the fiberglass) before they can be removed so that the pin can be removed to drop the board. If the crack is definitely in the lead, it needs fixed and that would likely be expensive.
