And Kent Narrows from the North..... but most of the Bay is fine. You should
be OK down to NC, but don't go the Dismal Swamp direction. And watch out for
some (many) of the little marinas - entrances do get shoaled up. And, don't
go through Georgia on the ICW.

My 35/3 draws 6 1/2 feet. There are a couple places I can't get through,
such as knapps narrow at Tilghman Island, but generally the draft is not a
problem.

ICW kinda tops out around 55 or 60 foot tall. Most marinas in the bay can
support 7' draft but some gunkholes and small tributaries will be harder. I
draft 6.5' and have learned to have a bit more attention to detail regarding
the shoal areas. Coming out of Annapolis and sailing the main areas of the
bay you should be fine.

I am new to this board. I am looking hard at a 40 C&C. She comes with the
tall mast and a 7' draft, and surveys very well. She will be berthed in
the Annapolis area. I work in Annapolis a couple of weeks out of the year
and am looking for a live aboard that I can sail.

I am hearing mixed signals about that draft. How hard will a 7' draft be
in that area? I have a home in Morehead City, NC. How difficult will that
draft be in the ICW? I know I will have to pay attention to the charts and
depth meter, but is it an impossible issue or just requires greater
attention.

I am willing to admit that I have a boat crush on her.

Your comments will be greatly appreciated.

Hey Paul, Good buy it sounds like... My C&C 30MK1 are getting to know each
other very now. Getting a new boat well new older boat is quite an
experience. You helped me out on some post in the past, as I was learning
the layout and handling of my boat. Thanks for that. I have seen the
Tangerine on U-Tube titled "C&C 24 close reaching" Great boat! Good luck
with the new big sister. Many years of happy times are sure to follow.
Cheers and have fun
