Joel, I bought some as accent lighting and was just gonna use 1/8" or 3/16" staples from a staple gun to hold them in place behind the trim. Staple right to the bottom of the cabinet.
As for the fluorescent fixtures I would use some 1/8" luan or hardboard and staple to that. Then screw the board in place. I don't have any faith in the adhesive that they come with.
