Wow, sometimes our boats are more different than you would think. We have
what I thought was the standard panel setup, which came with little neon
indicator lights in a flat-top diffuser. Some of them were missing the
diffuser and a couple were broken, so I replaced the whole works with LED's
from Paneltronics. They were the cheapest by far and had both 12V and 110V
LED's available in suitable colours. <

You can see that unless you get the LED's perfectly aligned they will
appear to be slightly different brightnesses at different viewing angles.
Because the LED's are slightly small for the holes I bedded them in
silicone from the back, using the little silver trim rings to stop them
from pulling through. In this picture the 12V ones have been replaced but
the 110V lamps are original. USA listers can order them directly from
Paneltronics but Canucks are supposed to go through the Canadian
distributor. Forget it, he's a fool. There aren't a lot of businesspeople
who I will call a "lying idiot" in a response email, he's the first. Order
them direct and have them shipped to a friend in the USA who will send them
on. Thanks to Alan Bergen for that.
