Obsession had a Autohelm 20+ year old on her when we bought it. It is the same
as the X5 unit. It worked fine for us for over a year and I assume for the
previous owner on Lake Erie. My boat has very little weather helm, so I think
the weight limit is not a problem. The Autohelm's brain box died last fall. I
purchased the Raymarine X5 in December when it was on sale. I hope to install
it this week. I just wanted you to know the X5 has been working on your same
model boat.

Listers,
Last year, during the voyage to the C&C Mystic Rendezvous, I discovered my 20+
year-old Robertson Autopilot wasn't working. Before I take on the task of
disconnecting, shipping and paying for servicing, I'm also considering
replacing it with a newer energy-saving and efficient modern option.
I see Raymarine sells a SPX-5 p70 system for around $1,500.
What do you use on your boats? Any thing that I should be aware of?
All the best,
Edd
