And then there are those that buy a bigger boat before they sell their
smaller boat....that was the situation we ran into when looking for a
boat.....the PO bought a new Dufour 38' and just wanted his old C&C
'disposed of'. We were happy to oblige him.

I expect many tired boat owners reach a point where the monthly care, feeding,
and moorage costs drive them to sell at almost any price.
A few may have completed all the planned voyages and adventures. Some have to
sell for a divorce or other major life/health change.
If the wife has interest in looking at a boat for sale I say what could hurt?
I know if my wife caught me seriously looking at another boat while still
owning a share of Calypso I would join one of the groups listed above.
