? is gas station diesel different from marine... < The only significant difference would be the tax rate. I use gas station diesel in Calypso's Perkins 4-108 regularly. I drive a diesel truck so filling a 5 gal can at the same time is easier than a trip to the fuel dock.
? My fuel gauge is a little useless... < I installed a Tank Tender system on Calypso 10 years ago. I am able to accurately monitor the level of the fuel and water tanks. I believe it will also work on holding tanks but I used a different gauge system (idiot lights) that has a display in the head. I can bend down and see he gauges. The only issue I have had is inadvertently stepping on the ignition key and bending the crap out of it from time to time. I'll probably screw a little guard over it eventually, so I don;t end up breaking the damned this off, which could be a real PITA! My fuel gauge is a little useless, but still better than what I had on our old 35 MK 1, which didn;t work at all. Alera's shows empty when she is still 1/2 full...at least that's what I think. It's showing empty right now and I'm pretty sure she has at least 8 gal. left. But I'll carry down a with a few gallons, just to make sure I don;t run out on my way to my next fill up. This is my first diesel...is gas station diesel different from marine, like is it with gas? BTW...nice ass... Tom B
