I had a couple set screws rust. But the barrels do not seem to self-adjust
w/o the screws on short day races. The 115 is very good to race - races to
her PHRF. And an excellent coastal cruiser. Very comfortable for a couple
for a two weeek jaunt. Not sure why more 115s aren't out there.

I have been crewing on Dave Barlow's C&C 115 Koobalibra for the past three
seasons. We have had a lot of issues with the factory barrells as the set
screws rust in place and other issues. Is very difficult to adjust rig
tension with this setup. Yes still rod rigging.

Another 115 is now called Pandora and was Triumph - owned by Peter Bromley
and also at RNSYS. I believe he changed to wire and open turnbuckles a few
years ago.

Sandy MacMillan of North Sails contacted Dave and has a plan to change over
the turnbuckles to something more workable. We are lucky since North Sails
locally took an interest in the C&C 115 fleet and hosted a tuning seminar in
May for the three 115s at RNSYS with Andreas Josenhans, Sandy MacMilaln and
one other 115 sailmaker out of Florida. Andreas also watched the entire
premier fleet including the 115s at the Prince of Wales race in September of
this year. Lots of photos and suggestions for making the boats go faster
and the crews sail better.

Great boats to sail esp in 13-18 knots!

I am interested. Which 115 do you sail on?

North Sails Atlantic is reworking the turnbuckles on the 115 we sail on. We
are meeting with them tommorrow. If anyone is interested I can update on
what type of system is replacing the barrels currently in use.
