Had a guy years back sailing his boat down NJ coast to bring it to a weekend regatta, big seas, fell off a mile out with autopilot on, sails up. Had a nice ocean swim in to shore. 3 days later a scallop boat found it 20 miles out. Towed it in, reported it to Coast Guard. Insu company bought it back from the boat who found it. Thats Maritime Law.
