Watching the thread on bilge pumps, I have a related question.
My '77 38MKII has two Whale Gusher manual pumps; one mounted next to the galley foot pump and one mounted in the side of the port cockpit coaming between the seat and the rear corner seat.
There is only one exit for both pumps????? It used to be hooked up when i bought the boat in 1977, however, after several interior changes and a re-powering project with a saildrive unit 5 years ago, the original hoses don't make sense.
Do both pumps actually pull on one suction hose from the bilge? Why doesn't air suck in from the other pump when not in use?
Does anyone else have this arrangement and can you give me a simple description of how the plumbing goes for these two pumps. There is a "y" fitting along side the motor???which seems to run to the thru- hull fitting.
Sorry if this sounds confusing, but I"m confused now as well. Thanks, Ron Casciato Impromptu C&C 38MKIIC '77 _______________________________________________ This List is provided by the C&C Photo Album http://www.cncphotoalbum.com CnC-List@cnc-list.com
