I have not tried to setup dual boot on a UEFI system. Lately I'm more inclined to install 1 bootable OS and run the rest as VMs. VMWare player works quite well for this on both Windows and Linux.
If you must have dual boot, I've heard that various Linix distros have a UEFI certified boot process, but the surest way still seems to be to disable UEFI/Secure boot in the BIOS and then things should work as before. When I have setup dual boot (before UEFI) I installed Windows 1st, then Mint, and the Mint install finds all the other bootable OSs and builds the GRUB boot list which you can tweak afterwards. On my Lenovo laptop with Win8.1 pro I've stuck with the Windows boot OS and use Hyper-v (part of Win9pro now) for others - seems to work well enough. FYI there is now a free version of Windows server with Hyper-V just for running guest OSs. Surf to http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20196 Hope that helps. Good luck. Like the Lenovo tools. Trying to install Mint 17 Mate in a 150 GB set of partitions. GPT+UEFI + Windows 7 & Mint 17 dual boot is all new territory for me. Got as far as installing Mint 17 in a set of partitions but wrecked it several times trying to get the dual boot. Everything I've Googled doesn't quite work. Suspect some of the "easy" solutions use MBR disk but they don't mention it. I need help! If someone has actually done this I and can help me I would cheerfully mow their lawn for them or some compensation. Near but not sure where.
