After several failed attempts to get TAILS to boot my ThinkPad T420i from two USB sticks (Live TAILS DVD works), I am suddenly unable to get into the Windows OS.
I get the oh so helpful message that the "User Profile Service service failed the logon". There are videos showing how to fix that, but everything seems to require access to the admin account. Sadly, my fingerprint reader has been the main means of logging on to Windows on the rare occasions when I use Windows. The password hint does not seem to help at all. I don't have a password reset disk, at least not in town. I can't seem to get safe mode either. Am I looking at a password cracking exercise, or is there another alternative?
