The video card I'm using is
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV6
[Vanta/Vanta LT] (rev 15)
It's an older card. I also have an onboard video: Intel 845G PCE
Accelerated SVGA
The computer is a Dell Optiplex GX260

I would like to find a web cam that I can use for Linux and
Windows.
I hope I can get this going better or I will have to try another
web cam. I tried the web cam using XP Pro, because I need to use
this with Skype for a video conference. I couldn't find anyway to
adjust the resolution using Skype. I set it to 800 x 600 in
Windows. Still problems. I would like to use Skype with Linux,
but people tell me there are lots of problems and I don't have
time to sort that out.

I found lowering the resolution helped some using Cheese under
Linux, but still problems. Also couldn't find a way to test the
audio using Linux. Cheese would freeze when I tried to record.
Are there better programs for web cams under Linux?
