Since you say minimums are met, your performance should not seem slower. I would wonder more if the OS has been optimized? Do you know what video card you have and what driver? Most open source drivers I would think are capable of OK 2D acceleration.
Maybe I am wrong here and someone else would like to step in? I have only tried a net books built in cam a while ago Mel -----Original Message----- From: Joe S <joes...@shaw.ca> Reply-to: CLUG General <clug-talk@clug.ca> To: CLUG General <clug-talk@clug.ca> Subject: Re: [clug-talk] Advice on webcam and mike Date: Tue, 25 Jun 2013 13:29:05 -0600 Mailer: KMail/1.13.5 (Linux/2.6.32-5-686; KDE/4.4.5; i686; ; ) I picked up a Genius F100 at Memory Express. The internal mike doesn't seem loud enough. Hopefully I can bypass that and use an external. There is a problem with the video and would like some advice. The speed of the video lags behind to the actual movements. Is this a problem with web cams or do I need a better processor. The minimum requirement is 2.4 gig, and is what I have. Would another web cam help?
