If you are secifically looking at n MSN clone, take a look at aMSN
(http://www.amsn-project.net). It is a pretty full-featured clone of
MSN IM. My wife used it quite a bit & I have used it a little bit as
well & I have been impressed. I myself prefer the multi-protocol IM
stuff like pidgin or kopete but aMSN has some chops.

It is available for Linux, WIndows & Mac & is skinnable & has a myriad
of plug-ins as well. There is even a portable version available from
portabpleapps.com (Windows only) so folks can carry it on there USB
stick if needed.
