Yep, Sansa sucks this way. My wife has one. It does play m3u, but 
not all versions, so check your application and try some older 
versions. Also noticed that the sansa actually likes to get the tags 
from the files themselves and create the playlist upon boot. So 
insert your tag info into your mp3 and let the sansa deal with it.
