I'm game. But I think myself and others need a little more info of what is needed.
When you are asking for some level of commitment, what does that mean? Time/effort to get the place in order? Cash up front? If so, how much? Related to that would be a firmer idea of what "hackerspace" is/will be. At the moment, I see some vague idea of a place to meet. But meet to do what? What is the framework for using the space? etc. I know some of these questions would be determined in the next step or two, but I know I can't make an honest assessment of my committment level until I know more... :) Maybe a beer or two with some of the interested parties to fill out the idea a little more?
