I loaded eeexubuntu 7.10, which worked really well. I then upgraded it
to a standard Ubuntu 8.04, which had numerous problems that I was
eventually able to resolve. It's working pretty well now.
http://wiki.eeeuser.com/ has a wealth of information on the different
distros that are available for the eeepc.
