I've used a USB serial adapter on a few devices, but haven't had any issue one the drivers worked.
IIRC, it worked on boot on an older SuSE install, but I've only had to use them in the past few years on windows laptops (with drivers installed) - the easiest thing to do is to go to best buy, pick one up and give it a try, they will accept returns if it doesn't work. I used it for programming a Basic Stamp years ago, as well as the control signals for a precision 3D scanner. Good luck On 11/22/06, Kin Wong <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
As you know, new laptops are being made without serial ports. Does anyone know or has had success with serial ports cards or usb serial cables for laptops? _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [email protected] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca Mailing List Guidelines (http://clug.ca/ml_guidelines.php) **Please remove these lines when replying
