i much prefer GRUB to LILO too, but primarily because of its added flexibility 
that is so useful for booting Free OSes and in multiboot situations. since 
you aren't involved in doing either, i'd just as soon not have to deal with 
having a disk around at all. though you could probably make a tiny partition 
on your hard disk for grub and get rid of that annoyance too.
