you could always install one of the other boot loaders and be done with it instead of trying to fight MS's boot loader onto the MBR. e.g. just install lilo using your rescue disc with just one entry (your WinXP install) and the boot delay set to 0. simple, guaranteed to work and we could get back to the business of discussing Linux on this list ;-) -- Aaron J.
