Hey Gang,

I have this HP Proliant DL320G2 equipped with weird ATA-RAID controller. LSI
Logic sent a source code for the driver and it has to be loaded from initrd.
But in order to compile it, I need the system up and running. However before I
can install the system, I need the driver. It's a Catch-22 situation, isn't
it?

So, can I compile it on any system and then move the module? Are there any
special requirements for this? The kernel versions should match, I presume.
Anything else?

And my question #2 would be: which distro will allow me to easily insert the
module during the installation process? I am planning to only have DHCP and
NTP on this box, so it can be virtually anything.

Thanks!
