It's perfectly fine to shame a corporation for doing seemingly strange things. Micah etc are paid developers and not volunteers maintaining some stale Open Source thingy. Well atleast I hope they are not.. An existing patch has existed for 5 years, so I'm pretty interested in hearing why such a basic and important feature is still not implemented. Only thing that comes to mind is that the developers don't even actually use ClamAV personally, or the use is so marginal that they don't even encounter this problem. If I encountered a bug like that on some project that I'm maintaining, I would be shamed not to rapidly fix it.
