My apologies to Tom also, i examined the 0.97.6 tarball Change log
again and found the line confirming that the contrib/init directory
was removed. So my initial message was not entirely correct.
Anyway, i'm not the person who may say the removal is logical or not,
just can say the RedHat init script was useful to me.
