Thank to both Jim and Tom. In fact, the old RedHat init script (found back in 0.94.2) seems to be working without any noticeable issues for me, but if there are any changes needed related to the new clamav versions, it will be good to see them.
So, Jim, you can send me the stuff you have, if you want of course. My apologies to Tom also, i examined the 0.97.6 tarball Change log again and found the line confirming that the contrib/init directory was removed. So my initial message was not entirely correct. Anyway, i'm not the person who may say the removal is logical or not, just can say the RedHat init script was useful to me.
