Oke, just checking... > I am root. The "#" shows that I am logged in as root, otherwise it > would be a ">" after the execonn. Although not real prove for being root (anyone could change his prompt) I believe you :-) >> You can check by doing an 'ls /usr/local/etc/clamd.conf' >> > execonn# ls /usr/local/etc/clamd.conf > ls: /usr/local/etc/clamd.conf: No such file or directory Since your 'make install' doesn't succeed, I suspect it never comes to copying a clamd.conf into /usr/local/etc. >>> make install >>> ...... >>> mkdir: /usr/local/share/clamav: File exists >>> *** Error code 1 >>> >>> Stop in /usr/home/mdudley/clamav-0.91.1/database. >>> *** Error code 1 >>> >>> Stop in /usr/home/mdudley/clamav-0.91.1. > Do you think maybe I should try to find the old version that the ports > was looking for, and put it in the directory it was looking for it in, > and try that again? > Well, I don't think that would be a good advice. My advice would be to upgrade your OS, but that'll be more work (you cannot upgrade to 6.2 stable directly, you would have to go through 5.3 first). I don't think the version from your ports collection is still supported here ;-) Peter -- http://www.boosten.org _______________________________________________ Help us build a comprehensive ClamAV guide: visit http://wiki.clamav.net http://lurker.clamav.net/list/clamav-users.html
