You can make it work but you will probably have to update your FreeBSD version to something newer if you want to use the ports. Somewhere along the line they changed some of the port scripts that broke building them on some of the older 4.x versions. I can confirm for you that the latest Clamav will build from ports and run fine on FreeBSD 4.11. I believe it may even work on 4.10. You will also have to update your ports tree as Clamav 0.54 is so old you won't want to run it. If you can't do an OS upgrade then you are going to have to figure out what is causing your problem with building it from the source. Looking at your output it looks like it doesn't like the fact that /usr/local/share/clamav exists. This may be a previous installation of Clamav that you may need to get rid of before you do a fresh install. Make sure you back things up before you start deleting things though.
