Yes I did read what you wrote.  I guess what I should have said is
that I had tried this before you had sent your email.  It all seems to
be running now but I think I'm going to attempt the upgrade.  I've
been going through the documentation and it doesn't seem like it'll be
that big of an undertaking.  Besides if I backup the current
MailScanner I can revert should something blow up.

Huh?  No way that would work!  You didn't read what I wrote, or you
way misunderstood it.

That would work, if done right (remove the options being passed, etc).
But it would probably be easier, and certainly better, to upgrade
to a version of MailScanner that has native clamd support instead.

Because clamav-wrapper is meant for clamscan, and hence passing
parameters to it.  You need to stop it from doing this, since
clamdscan/clamd uses the clamd.conf file instead for this purpose.
