I've had this happen to us 5 times in the past 2 months. Currently
running CVS version from jan 6. I've recently compiled it to show debug
info, so that next time I can have some useful information (I might use gbd
as suggested by trog in addition to the debug info). It did crash once when
I was away so I don't have any of the debug information... perhaps I'll get
"lucky" and it'll crash when I'm close by :)

So far all I know is when clamd dies, only the parent process is still
running... no child processes are seen us ps. Then of course clamav-milter
isn't able to connect to clamd either.
