Here is my suggestion:

Each person should upload one good take with at least 5 seconds of space at the head and tail of their clip to give some flexibility in editing it. The background should either be in front of their Cinelerra setup or in front of a local landmark, building, etc.

Each person should be encouraged to do something different with their clip. Having 30 talking heads saying "I use Cinelerra" in their native language would be pretty boring, so each person should do something creative with their shots and/or say something unique.

Some kind of deadline should be established. I know I wouldn't have time to do this until December at the earliest.

Each clip should be uploaded with their name and location in the filename. For example, mine would be Matt-Pfingsten_Nashville- Tennessee-USA.mov. If the essential info is in the filename it'll be tough to lose track of it. If it was in an enclosed text file or an e-mail it might be hard or time consuming to track down.

With the source clips available, each person can cut the project to their liking, create their own titles effects, music, sound, etc.
We set a deadline for rendered cuts to be placed on-line. Then we vote.

Just out of curiosity, what is the purpose of this video? Is it just for shits and giggles or is it intended as some kind of PR video?
