This means that this distribution cannot consume Ceph storage any
more, if no other party will build these packages.
If you are using SuSE Linux Enterprise Server or OpenSuSE as a client
for Ceph storage you need to plan for this.

TL;DR: James Oakely has taken over ceph package maintenance on openSUSE,
and is currently working on getting Reef into openSUSE Tumbleweed.
I just learned that SuSE even removed the Ceph kernel modules from their
enterprise kernel package in 15.7. This means you cannot mount CephFS or
map an RBD when using SuSE Linux Enterprise Server any more.
