These students weren't quite ready for Knuth. They were second and third semester.

community college, with lots of "returning to college", part-time students, and adults who never had the background, but WANTED to start learning such stuff. And some students who were there specifically because they weren't ready scholastically to handle a college cs program.
Enormous variation in backgrounds and abilities. I tried to help them get to the point where they COULD handle some Knuth.
