I had planned to tape a thermocouple to the board, but putting it in a plated through hole seems like an even better idea. For my own board designs, I can make sure to include a hole of the right diameter for whatever thermocouple I use, at my best guess of an optimum point on the board to measure temperature. -- Mark J.
