It is so sad to hear this unfortunate news.

Aside from all his work and contributions on RNA crystallography, his
efforts to disseminate knowledge and information to the community via his
website was very important too.

I last met him about 2015 at a reunion of Sung-Hou Kim group alumni. I am
organizing another such reunion in August 2026, and I sent around a couple
of emails on our alumni group email, but I did not hear back from him. I
had it on my mind until a few days ago when I heard of his illness.

And then this final news, which took me time to digest before being able to
write anything here.

He will be very much missed. Condolences to everyone who knew him or was
touched by his life and efforts.

Sincerely,
Debanu
