Hi James, What task are you wanting to use sftools for? I would recommend using Gemmi if possible.
Using NumPy and Pandas you can be very flexible with what you do with the data. There are some examples here ( https://gemmi.readthedocs.io/en/latest/hkl.html#data-in-numpy-and-pandas), but I'd be happy to help with a script.
