Dear Clemens, dear respondents,

My "uploader experience" with proteindiffraction.org in the past was indeed very positive. Particularly the intuitive way of uploading and the fact that not much metadata was required (e.g.Raw Data Letter), were the main reasons for choosing it. Personally, I don't see a reason to try out something else, provided that this database has sufficient long-term support and the data doesn't get lost. Some time ago this was a point of concern in the ccp4b and I was not able to find some solid information if this has changed. But obviously it seems to be fine.

All the best,
Peer

Hi Peer,

I don't know about the "uploader experience", but as a user of those
repositories I can highly recommend proteindiffraction.org: very easy
to use, clear annotation and very reliable. Other options I've used
happily include

   https://data.sbgrid.org/
   https://xrda.pdbj.org/

and also

https://zenodo.org/ (ensure to mark it as part of the MX community
                            https://zenodo.org/communities/mx/records)

(but you are responsible for providing meaningful metadata).

Cheers

Clemens

PS: thanks a lot for considering depositing those images - always
     highly appreciated!

PPS: there are others that are probably institute/country-specific
      (https://mxrdr.icm.edu.pl/, https://researchdata.edu.au/,
      https://data.esrf.fr/, https://etsin.fairdata.fi/ ...)

I found a few old data sets from the last millennium that I would like to
upload to a suitable repository. What is your advice?

In the past I was using proteindiffraction.org. Is this still a good choice?
I remember some discussions about it.

All the best,
Peer
