It's such a shame that this technology is no longer manufactured. Of course, with a sufficiently large monitor, I could view a double image cross-eyed or wide-eyed to see 3D, but it's not the same as using 3D technology. You can't see as much at once without 3D glasses, which was always the big advantage that 3D glasses had for me when refining structures. It made for better quality and more rapid structure refinement, as well as better understanding of unusual phenomena that deserved attention. As a side note, I don't think we should rely blindly on software (even AI) to get everything right for us.
I think we've taken a step backwards. If there is a way to revive interest in 3D technologies in the marketplace (such as in engineering?), it should be pursued. Daniel ________ Daniel M. Himmel, Ph.
