Dear all,

We would like to inform you that the Call for Proposals (regular proposals) is
now open for DESY beamline P11 at the PETRA III synchrotron in Hamburg.

The deadline for proposal submission is
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
4 September 2023 until midnight local Hamburg time (UTC+2)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
This call relates to the run period February - July 2024.

For 'regular proposals', you can choose between
- 'scientific focus' and
- 'immediate socio-economic impact'
In both cases your proposal is subject to a review.

Preparation guidelines and current templates for 'regular proposals' with
either scientific or immediate socio-economic focus can be found here:
https://photon-science.desy.de/users_area/user_guide/write_a_proposal/

The 'scientific focus' is default. The 'immediate socio-economic impact' can be
indicated during the submission procedure in DOOR and must be considered during
proposal text preparation.

At least one of the following criteria must apply to your 'immediate
socio-economic impact' proposal:

- Presentation of a robust and credible exploitation plan
- Project requests preparation studies for raising a startup company
- Project is a pre-commercial development and has a technical readiness level
of minimum 4

Please note that we have altered our proposal templates, therefore make sure
that you make use of the latest templates for preparation of your proposal!

All proposals have to be submitted via
https://door.desy.de

Beamline P11 is a versatile beamline dedicated to macromolecular
crystallography with a sample changer in unipuck format. We offer various
focusing modes with beam size from 5 x 10 um (flux 1 × 10^13 ph/s at 12 keV at
the sample position) to 200 x 200 um. Broad energy range from 5.5 - 28 keV and
Eiger2 16M detector. Fast sample changer cycle (20 s) with storage capacity for
23 unipucks (368 samples) and remote access.
