So sad to hear!
I have seen such failures on the CX100 shipping dewars. Generally failure 
occurs close to the neck of the dewar and is apparently probably caused by a 
hard side or angular impact cracking a weld or the shell. Most the failures I 
have seen have been When shipping in the old black outer shipping cases, fewer 
with the newer gray ones and none with the extra large gray ones. The dewars 
are not repairable you have a new paper weight!
