Marc-
I've heard the same thing about RTP and IOU, from two very recent candidates.

Let's be honest- they are Cisco, it's their software, and they can do anything
with it.  What you may find on the grey market or bittorrent is obviously not
the same thing they run in the lab.  Even with the grey market IOU, you can mix
and match the IOU and IOUL2 to get the functions you need running (Etherchannel
and NTP, for example).  It's all possible, and there are no limits.  It makes
sense that Cisco would make this movement to save hardware, rack space, power,
etc.

Happy labbing!

Regards,
Jay McMickle- CCIE #35355

Subject: Re: [OSL | CCIE_RS] RTP Virtualized on IOU?

i would be very suprised if they did as l2iou can not do some of the things
on the ccie specification including some things i was tested on last month
(which were real switches).
